JUNE 17 Bere Alston - a village walk with the local history group.   Meet Village Hall carpark   6.45pm.
JULY 15 Morwellham - a guided tour.   Meet main car park   6.45pm.
AUG  19 Dartmoor granite quarries - a walk with Liz Miall.   Meet Four Winds car park  6.45pm.

A unique experience brings music to local history. Stories & songs from members Paul & Marilyn in the Trust’s 20th anniversary year

A guided tour of this former kingdom of copper & mining

Liz Miall

Independent & knowledgeable local guide, currently leading Walks for Women & other moorland walks.

Alan Gray

A keen photographer & experienced volunteer at Buckland Abbey explores the relics of our famous sailor around the globe.

Dr. Tom Greeves

 

Archaeologist & local author, lectures on Dartmoor & tin mining, both academic & popular.

Dr. Todd Gray – Born in New England, now Chairman of the Devonshire Association, author/ editor of numerous books & scholarly articles.

EVENTS

Talks are usually held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Meavy Village Hall. Outdoor visits and walks take place in the summer at various locations in the area.

2008 rates are as follows:
Individual: £4.00
Family: £7.00
Libraries, Schools etc: £3.50

The Journal is normally published annually and costs £2.50 to members of Yelverton & District Local History Society. Non-members £3.00+ 50p p&p.
